What: A “tweet up” is a meet up of people using Twitter. They are informal gatherings held around the world whenever a few Twitterers decide they’d like to get together.
Why: I’ve made friends with a few people in West Cork through Twitter, and some other social networks, that I have still not met face to face, so we were thinking that it’s time to have a West Cork Tweet Up!
Who: This Tweet Up is not exclusive for Twitter users. Everyone is welcome; but bloggers, other web people and those interested in the web would be most interested. I’ve heard that some of the Cork City Twitterati may be interested in coming down for a night out in Clonakilty!
When: Joe Scanlon has organised Cork Twitter/Blogger Pints in Cork City this coming Friday (13th March) so we’ll need to have our night after that. As it’s hard to pick a date that will suit everyone, I’ve set up a poll to decide the date (thanks to @denisecox for the idea). Please vote for your preferred date before 16th March so that we can announce the date by then.
Where: I was thinking that The Courtyard (behind Eurospar) would be good because there’s parking, it’s pretty roomy and they serve food if people are interested. If anyone else has a suggestion for a venue, please comment here. Once a date is chosen we can then confirm the venue.
