I was very honoured when the people at Studio Press selected our new design for the Trident Hotel Kinsale website for their Showcase. Studio Press provide premium WordPress themes and for the Trident we selected a basic theme and customised the look quite a bit to suit their branding and add a few additional nice touches to make the site stand out. When I posted on Twitter about the new site going live, I was amazed to see a number of posts back from the theme developers about how much they liked it. A short while later I noticed that they had placed the site in their Showcase of sites that use their themes with a good bit of customisation. I’d often look here for inspiration.
Beside some custom graphic design for the background to make a nice overall look to the site, the use of a NextGen Gallery slideshow featuring images from around the hotel, really makes the site stand out.
The redevelopment of the site using WordPress means that staff at the Trident can easily update the site to include special offers, events and other news as needed. They have done a very good job managing the site and using Twitter and Facebook to promote it.
