Update 10th November 2011:
The Conference was a great success! The buzz was amazing and the conversations and sharing of information between the participants will prove to be helpful to them all. There was actually a roar in the dining room at lunch and dinner from all of the excited conversation. Online Marketing did prove to be of great interest to the group and there was a number of great questions and input during my presentation “Get Real: How to get Real Results for your business with online marketing”.

I am really looking forward to speaking at this year’s Business of Weddings Conference that is organised by Annie Byrne of Aislinn Events. I’ve heard great things about the 2010 conference and think it’s a great idea to bring together various types of business in the wedding industry to learn ways to run and promote their businesses better as well as to network and see ways to work together to provide better services and make better opportunities for themselves.
My presentation will be Getting Results Using Online Marketing for Your Wedding Business. Last year there was a presentation specifically on Social Media at the conference, but I am going to talk about integrating all forms of online marketing: websites & search engine optimisation, email marketing, pay per click advertising, social media, etc. and developing a well formed strategy to get results.
Nearly all wedding businesses are using online marketing — social media specifically — but, like most small businesses, few have laid out a specific online marketing plan with a strategy that is focused and results oriented. Such a plan will ensure that you do get results and that your time on online marketing activities is focused and effective. The timing of the conference is ideal so that attendees will be able to use the information gained to set out their plans for 2012!
I have a number of clients in the wedding industry – venues, invitations, cakes and photographers – that have gotten great results through the work that I have done for them — and more importantly, the work that I’ve coached them to do themselves to keep their website and online marketing plans on track for the long term. I will use my experience working with these clients to give tips specific to the wedding industry.
The other speakers at the conference are Tammy Kinzer Elliot, President/CEO of Perfect Wedding Guide Franchising, LLC and Perfect Wedding Guide Publishing, LLC; and Natalie Bradley Owner, Bride Attraction and Natalie Bradley Events; who will both be sharing their experience as operators of successful wedding businesses.
I am looking forward to giving my presentation as well as meeting the wedding business operators that will also be at the conference.
The conference takes place 9th and 10th November 2011 at Springfort Hall in Mallow, County Cork, Ireland.
