Graham Norton related the following story on his show last week, in honour of his guest, Welsh legend Tom Jones. Norton’s staff are excellent at picking up funny stories from the internet.
When making this bilingual sign, the Swansea Council emailed the office they use for Welsh translations, including the text required. The council received a reply and made up the sign.
